(Nashville, Tenn.) Jan. 6, 2011 – A cadre of Christian music’s most dynamic young artists, led by former GMA New Artist of the Year Building 429, kicks off the new year with a bang and a purpose, heading out in mid-January for the Food For The Hungry Winter Blast 2011.
The ten-city tour also features 33Miles, Jason Gray and newcomer Kerrie Roberts, and was born out of the band’s ongoing partnership with relief organization Food For the Hungry, as well as the exposure to various plights around the world during 2010.
“Building 429, our fans, and colleagues changed the lives of more than 4,000 families through child sponsorship in Haiti last year,” said Building 429’s Jason Roy. “Recently, my wife and I spent some time in Haiti, and we returned from that trip more convinced than ever that this mission must continue.”
“Winter Blast 2011 has an amazing lineup of like-minded artists who are excited to share their music and the hope of child sponsorship,” Roy continues. “I am genuinely a fan of every artist on this tour, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to share the stage with all of them.”
The Winter Blast tour will charge $10 at the door for admission (except for a few select cities), no advance purchase required. The tour will be sponsored and supported by Christian radio partners in each market. For more information, check out www.FHWinterBlast.com.

Mike Prendergast, Director of Programming for KLTY in Dallas, predicted Kerrie Roberts as “New Artist of the Year” saying, “She’s one of the best new acts I’ve heard in a while.” The album’s track “Unstoppable” has also been featured on the FOX network in broadcast promos for the upcoming 10th season of “American Idol.” Roberts toured throughout Fall 2010, opening for Casting Crowns on several show dates, and appearing on the Very Merry Christmas Tour with Newsong and Newsboys.
